Time for masks: of Carnival but also of beauty with Grand Hotel Terme Astro   by Layoutweb

In conjunction with the Historic Carnival of Busseto, the wellness hotel proposes a three days – two nights package to spend the funniest festivity of the year and enjoy relaxing beauty treatments.

All in a weekend: the gaiety of the floats in Busseto and the pleasure to take care of the self in the quiet of a beauty farm surrounded by green hills. This is not a Carnival joke, but the invitation that Grand Hotel Terme Astro makes to all those who love fun and relax.

“The papier-mâché friends” have been working for months to create the marvellous allegoric floats that will enliven the streets of Busseto. Each year, concerts, shows and games enrich the events programme, besides the competition for the best masks.
The places where Giuseppe Verdi lived lose their usual austerity, but “semel in anno licet insanire” (once in a year it is permitted to go crazy) and take the chance to visit the Teatro Verdi, the church of the Collegiata, Villa Sant’Agata. and the birthplace of the famous composer in Roncole Verdi.

To join this colourful saraband of masks, confetti and music, the hotel and wellness centre offers a three days- two nights package, half board, that includes a daily entrance at “Istanbul Baths”, the hammam programme of the Beauty Farm Alhambra, an antistress massage and a Polynesian toning shower.

After the contagious energy of the parades, time to relax in the hammam. The rhythms of the songs and the laughs leave room to the sounds and the lights of the Tepidarium, where to sip tea at the temperature of 35-40°. While the body gets used to the heat, the mind, cuddled by the flowing of the water, can relax. According to the Moroccan tradition, the body is spread with the black soap, a special paste rich in mineral salts that prepares the skin for the exfoliation. In the Calidarium there is the real vapour bath, an ancient ritual that not only eliminates toxins and impurities, but during the winter, helps prevent cold-related problems, it frees the airways and counters muscular tensions. Then, it is time for the Frigidarium and a vivifying immersion in the spa tub. The programme ends with herbal teas abd pastries to taste in the relax area, lying on comfortable chaise longues.
